This Sheboygan Matcha Retreat Includes Pottery, Yoga, Brunch, and a Chance to Slow Down
If your schedule has felt nonstop lately, this upcoming event in downtown Sheboygan might be exactly the reset you need.
On May 16 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, The Sheboygan Collective is partnering with Sora Matcha for a half-day retreat built around creativity, mindfulness, and intentional rest.
And this is not your typical workshop. Attendees will spend the morning moving through multiple experiences designed to help them slow down and reconnect.
Create Your Own Ceramic Matcha Bowl
Guests will begin by hand-building their own ceramic matcha bowl with guidance from The Sheboygan Collective team.
You’ll learn simple clay techniques while creating something functional that you can use long after the event is over. Your bowl will stay at the studio afterward to be fired and glazed, and participants will be notified when it is ready for pickup.
Learn How to Prepare Matcha with Intention
Sora Matcha will lead a guided matcha workshop where guests will learn the basics of preparing matcha and participate in a tasting experience.
This portion of the retreat focuses on slowing down and appreciating the ritual behind matcha preparation rather than rushing through another coffee run.
Choose Your Own Wellness Experience
One of the most unique parts of this retreat is that guests can choose the activity that feels right for them.
You can join a gentle yoga session or participate in a meditative art journaling experience. Both options are designed to help attendees stay present and create space for intentional rest.
Brunch by KBee Bakery
Halfway through the retreat, guests will gather for brunch prepared by KBee Bakery. This gives everyone time to relax, connect, and enjoy meaningful conversation while taking a break from the activities.
Who This Event Is Perfect For
This event is ideal for anyone who has been craving a slower pace. It would make a great solo self-care day, a girls outing, or something fun to do with a friend if you want to try something different in Sheboygan.
The best part is that you do not need any prior experience with pottery, yoga, journaling, or matcha. Everything is beginner-friendly. Just bring comfortable clothing if you plan to do yoga and a water bottle. Yoga mats will be provided.

I love sharing events like this because they show a different side of Sheboygan. We have incredible local businesses creating thoughtful experiences that help people connect, recharge, and try something new.
And that is exactly what connecting people with places is all about.
